X factor betting preview
5pts on Danyl Johnson not to be top over 25 at 2/1 (Betfair)
2pts on Jamie Archer to win at 7/1 (Boyle Sports)
2pts on Joe Mceldery to win at 4/1 (Blue Square)
0.5pts on Olly Murs to win at 8/1 (Boyle Sports)
Danyl Johnson's first audition was described by Simon Cowell as being one of the best ever - yet there is a real likelihood he has peaked too soon. The competition this year is tough and he messes around far too much to warrant being an odds-on favourite. At 1/2 on to be the top over 25, we're well prepared to lay.
And after the successes of Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke in recent years the judges are hinting that this year it is time for one of the boys to step up. Olly Murs could be an outsider - a good entertainer, good vocally, but perhaps lacking the x-factor quality that would take him all the way. Keep the stake small if backing him at a very fair 8/1.
Joe Mceldery meanwhile is the best of the young ones and should comfortably finish above the others in his category. Odds of 4/1 look reasonable value on him going all the way.
Perhaps the most distinctive, and possibly vocally best too however is Jamie Archer. Given his relative ability we think the odds of 7/1 are misplaced and he looks worth an interest at odds like that.
