Moving on to this weekend and Liverpool's exit from the Champions League means they will be well-rested for the visit of Newcastle. Despite Alan Shearer's arrival, Newcastle's form has not improved, and they are quickly running out of games to gain the points they need to escape the drop. Liverpool hope to welcome Steven Gerrard back after his absence, but whether Gerrard starts or not, Liverpool are capable of running this dis-jointed Newcastle side ragged on their day. At this stage of the season the size of a club doesn't matter in the relegation dogfight - it is results and points that do. Newcastle have a big uphill battle here, and at Anfield the weight of probabilities strongly suggests a home win.
